VALDOSTA - Keep Lowndes/Valdosta Beautiful is hosting its 23rd annual "Bring one for the Chipper" now through January 4.

Residents can drop off their trees at any one of the Lowndes County locations, including the Super Wal-Mart on Inner Perimeter Road, The Home Depot on Norman Drive, and Mathis City Auditorium.

"Folks can come by and drop them off anytime between now and Saturday, January 4. If they wait until Saturday, January 4, and drop it off between the hours of 9 and 2, they'll get a free tree seedling in return. So, you know, it's a good way for you to get rid of that tree and plus you get a free tree seedling while supplies last and that's going to replace, out of nature, the tree that was cut down for your holiday pleasure", says Aaron Strickland, Director for Keep Lowndes/Valdosta Beautiful.

Last year "Bring One for the Chipper" chipped 571 trees between drop offs and those picked up by The City of Valdosta.
