Valdosta, GA - Meteorologist Mike McCall spoke to students at Moulton Branch Elementary School on Wednesday (11-10).
He showed the children the differences between a warm front and a cold front.
McCall, also, showed the kids how lightning and hurricanes are formed.
One teacher said having a meteorologist come to the school makes the lesson more enjoyable for the students.
"I think they were excited because they got to see the things that we're talking about. Real things, actually talked to a real meteorologist. Someone that they, also, have the opportunity to see on television," said fourth grade teacher Sonya Riley.
The children, also, learned the importance of carrying a weather radio. McCall said it can be beneficial when you're camping and outdoors because you will be more aware of what weather dangers might be around.
