LAMP and Veterans Services teamed up for the ninth Annual Regional Community Connection Homeless Resource Fair & Veterans Stand-Down.
The block party featured 25 area agencies--from behavioral health to literacy services--to bring the community together.
The goal was to help the homeless access these benefits and to raise awareness for the cause.
"It's a prevailing issue," said Judline Bernadin, a case manager with LAMP, who organized the event. "And I think if we tackle it as a community, we'd have better results, we'd have more efficient results. And we'd just have a better community as a whole."
LAMP estimates that 10 percent of Lowndes County is homeless.
