Law enforcement officials from South Georgia gathered in Thomasville to mix and mingle, as well as collect toys for a worthy cause (12/3)

The South Georgia Intelligence Network's Winter Breakfast was held this morning and troopers, investigators, and even a few judges gathered to celebrate the Christmas season and catch up on recent fundraiser results.

The Georgia State Patrol also used this event as a way to promote the last week of their pre-Christmas toy drive, which benefits Toys 4 Tots.

Says Thomasville GSP Post Commander Sgt. Scott Woodell, who is also coordinating the toy drive, "Christmas, there's nothing more enjoyable than to see that child come around the corner and see their eyes light up, and a smile go up on there faces ... and that's what the whole program is about."

GSP says this is the first year their agency has officially teamed up with the charity, which is traditionally tied with the U.S. Marines.

Troopers say they will be accepting donations of new and gently used toys until the end of this week at any of their posts.

They say if you have a donation but cannot bring it to a post or designated donation center, a GSP trooper will be happy to come to your home and pick the donation up.
