Thomasville, GA- Thursday afternoon the cafeteria of Thomasville High School will transform into what organizers are calling Thanksgiving Blessfest.
"We have about 55 turkeys and about 50 hams, about 50 pans of dressing and about 50 things of green beans," said kitchen coordinator and volunteer Marisa Wilkerson.
It's no small task preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for more than 1200 people but members of the Inside Out Nation Ministry in Thomasville are happy to do so.
"It's really been cool just to be able to go out into the community and to ask for donations, and to ask for things, for people to bake things and people want to give back, they want to come out and help and this is just another opportunity for us to be able to do that," said Amy Boland with Inside Out Nation.
The giving doesn't stop there. On Friday, volunteers with the ministry will also hold a food and clothes giveaway at the Trinity Anglican Church in Thomasville.
"We'll be able to feed 120 families," said Boland. "It will be first come, first serve, and then also we have about 100 bags of clothes that we need to get rid of, that we want to just give to people."
Bryan Watt, another member of Inside Out Nation said he's impressed by the number of people volunteering their time.
"The fact that they would sacrifice part of their Thanksgiving Day or maybe sacrifice a football game to come out and serve those in need has been one of the most amazing things I've seen through this experience."
Dinner will be served Thursday at noon.
