[UPDATE] 4-11 Noon -

An airman from Moody Air Force Base pleads guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old Iowa girl he met online and bringing her to Georgia.

The US District Court says 28-year-old Gary Archer pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts: both traveling across state lines to Iowa to have sex with the girl, and transporting her to Georgia to have sex with him.

Indictment papers show Archer met the girl in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in May of last year, and that she was in Valdosta two-months later. Officials say she stayed at a local hotel and his apartment for a month.

According to the indictment Archer tricked the teen's parents into letting her visit Georgia by disguising his voice as a woman's.

According to reports from the teen, Archer would pretend to be a sick friend and the parent of that friend to trick her parents into allowing her to come to Georgia.

"Under no circumstance, do you need to let your child travel anywhere where you not knowing who exactly and what exactly they're going to do, who they're going to see," said Detective Roy Hart.

Archer was arrested on January 31st at Moody Air Force Base. He is charged with one count of interstate travel to sexual abuse a child and one count of transporting a child in interstate commerce for unlawful sex.

He is being held in the Linn County jail and has been denied bail.

Archer's Trial is scheduled for April 25Th.

What kind of idiots are these parents...even if someone sounds like a woman on the phone, do you let your kid travel half across the country alone?

I thing this guy is solely responsible, but I agree there is more to this story, because the parents had to be on crack or some type of mental state to let a child travel somewhere with A STRANGER!!

It is interesting that you say this guy is totally to blame, and then go on to blaming the parents for being on crack (with no proof) or mentally unstable (with no proof). I think the parents are responsible for being negligent in knowing what their daughter was really up to. Not vary many parents allow their 14 yr old daughter to travel several states away without knowing exactly who they are with, and why. This guy is fully responsible for his actions though.

We've gotten off track. But I have to say something about the comments about girls & dressing inappropriately. Will you please call manufactures of clothes & complain with me!!!??? They force us parents to dress our little girls up like hootchie mammas!!! Sometimes, it's not the girl at all.

I have to ask also where were the parents of this child? Do they not care where and with whom their daughter runs off with. I have to agree there must be more to the story. How many other men has she done this to. The parents and the girl should be held accountable also.

What kind of parents/parent allow their 14 year old to travel that distance "NOT KNOWING" exactly all the details? Bet there is more to the story.

I agree,"you're ignorant" is a moron and an idiot. No matter how a young girl acts it does not give an adult the right to take advantage of her. Part of being an adult is knowing right from wrong. Taking responsibility for your own actions has nothing to do with the actions of others.
