A proclamation declaring May as Better Speech and Hearing Month now has the signature of Thomasville's mayor. The hearing specialist says the proclamation will help residents become more aware of their hearing conditions - whether good or bad.
"Promoting self evaluation about hearing loss making people aware of symptoms of hearing loss that way if they have any questions they can call an informed source," said Jason Murphy.
Murphy says all hearing test are free of charge.
Better Speech and Hearing Month is already recognized nationally but Murphy says he wanted to bring awareness to Thomasville by having the proclamation signed.
