Valdosta, GA - One way VSU students honored the life of Martin Luther King Jr. was by donating blood to the local Red Cross.
The University's chapter of Alpha Phi Omega hosted the blood drive, which saw donors from all walks of life. Cheree Copeland, a VSU SGA Senator said, the event meant much more to her than getting free cookies and a
T-shirt.

"I came to give blood because there was a big push on our campus to give blood. Especially by Alpha Phi Omega, which is our fraternity on campus, and also because it's Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, so there was a big, extreme push to donate today and just go out and do community service."
