Colquitt County, GA- Investigators with the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office initially arrived to a house along the 900 block of Shade Murphy Road on Tuesday to serve an arrest warrant to 33-year-old Dustin Jones.
Jones was wanted by authorities for violating probation related to a previous charge. However, deputies say when they arrived to the house, Jones did not want to cooperate.
"Deputies on the scene told me that when they knocked on the door, he went to several windows in the residence, trying to get out the window, but they had pretty much surrounded the house so he had no where to go," said Lt. Steve Exum with the Colquitt County Drug Enforcement Team.
Once they made it inside, investigators say they found a syringe filled with suspected methamphetamine. They also found many of the ingredients commonly used to manufacture the drug.
"A search of the house revealed empty pseudoephedrine packets, which is a key ingredient in methamphetamine; lithium. tinfoil, filters and hoses."
Jones was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamines and violation of probation.
Janice Butterfield, 29, was also at the house at the time. She was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to manufacture methamphetamine.
Jones and Butterfield were both taken to Colquitt County Jail.
Butterfield has since posted bond. Jones, however, remains behind bars.
