Thomasville, GA- A Thomasville man is dead after a drunk driver hit him while he was riding his bike.
Georgia State Patrol Troopers say it happened along U.S. 319 South, heading towards Thomasville, shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
They say the driver of a Ford Mustang, 37-year-old Jeffrey Neel was speeding and tried to avoid a car in front of him by swerving.
That's when he lost control of his car and struck 25-year-old Kevin Mandoux who was peddling against the traffic.
"The driver was charged with driving under the influence, speeding in excess of 80 miles an hour, reckless driving, and vehicular homicide," said Georgia State Patrol Trooper Stewart Parker.
Neel was taken to Thomas County Jail where he has since been released on bond.
