The search for a man accused of violent crimes in two South Georgia counties is over after he was arrested.
Berrien County officials say 42-year-old Charles Heard was arrested in Macon Saturday.
Heard is accused of raping and kidnapping a Ray City woman Thursday. He drove her to Adel. That's where she escaped but Heard allegedly shot another man. The man who was shot in Adel is expected to make a full recovery.

Adel, GA - Police are asking for your help in finding a man wanted for rape, kidnapping and assault. Charles Heard is accused of raping a woman in Berrien County on Thursday night. The Berrien County Sheriff's Office says he then kidnapped the woman and drove her to Adel. That's where she escaped but Heard allegedly shot another man. Cops are now searching for him and the vehicle he's reported to be driving.
Sargent Jonathan Blake with the Adel Police Department said "the vehicle that we are looking for is going to be a 2010 silver or gray Nissan Altima with tinted windows, factory remaining products on there and a Georgia paper drive out tag."
The man who was shot in Adel is expected to make a full recovery. If anyone has seen Charles Heard contact the Adel Police Department or the Berrien County Sheriff's Office.
