Man's Ear Bitten Off at VSU Party

-- Valdosta, Ga. -- May 5, 2012 --

Commander Brian Childress of the Valdosta Police Department said "we got a call where a person showed up at the hospital, had a portion of his ear bitten off."

Around 2 o'clock this past Sunday morning police responded to their third call related to the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house on Baytree road.

That's where they say a fight ended with part of a man's ear bitten off.

Commander Childress said "at that time we believed that person was a VSU student. However in fact we have now confirmed he was not a student. But he was at one of the fraternity houses."

One VSU student, Sean Harper, said "there's going to be a lot of integration between students and non students. Especially people who don't run off to college. That just are around and try and save money to go to college."

Eyewitness News reporter Eames Yates asked Commander Childress "are there any leads or idea of who bit the ear?"
He responded by saying "yes we know exactly who did it. We've identified the person who was involved in biting the victims ear, but we've also found witnesses that are conflicting the information told to us by the victim."

At this time investigators say they have a victim with a partial ear and no one is currently under arrest.

Police have not released the names of the victim or suspect. The victim was treated at the South Georgia Medical Center.

I am shocked that KAPPA SIG was not involved in this. They seem to get out of trouble, you know hide it under the rug. I think all the FRAT RAT house's should be shut down! They are nothing but TROUBLE!!!! All the hazing, and beating, daring, and look it get's some people killed. They all should be BAN from every college in every state!!!

Apparently people are going to comment about this story when they don't know the facts. First and fore most, I love my fraternity and sometimes fights happen. No arrest were made bc the missing ear victim started the fight and there are witnesses to back that up. Guilty is guilty. Im not saying my brothers are always in the right but I support Pi Kappa Phi and those in it. Lack of better judgement was used here and now we are in the spotlight. There is no RACE CARD HERE....yes our fraternity is comprised of white people...so that makes us drunks and gun carriers? Get real. Obviously there would be more missing than a ear if thats what we stood for....gang violence? My fraternity is not a gang...Know the facts people.

GOP..who said the kid was under 21?

The reason nobody has been arrested is because the victim didn't press chargers, because there is more to the story and this so called "victim" is just as guilty.

And to think that law abiding citizens are not allowed to carry guns on campus but beer/booze parties are just fine. I'm sure, positive sure, Forest Gump would have something to say about that.

Maybe the reason "law abiding citizens" can't carry guns on campus is because they might go to "beer/booze parties" where people too young to know their limits get drunk enough to bite someones ear off.
