Atlanta, GA (AP) - Attorney Chris McFadden has won a runoff for an
open seat on Georgia's Appeals Court.
Unofficial returns Tuesday showed the 53-year-old attorney won
63 percent of the vote compared to 37 percent for Antoinette Davis
with 92 percent of precincts reporting.
His victory marked a come-from-behind win in the nonpartisan,
statewide race. McFadden finished behind Davis in the Nov. 2
general election. But since neither candidate won 50 percent plus
one vote, they were forced into a runoff.
McFadden has a law office in Decatur.
During the race, he emphasized his two decades of experience
handling legal appeals in Georgia. He co-wrote a legal reference
book on appellate practice in the state.
