Thomasville, GA - "You've got a one in a million chance of winning and if you don't play, you don't win," said Anthony Brown on the Mega Million lottery. Folks like brown lined up hopeful of purchasing the golden ticket. The chances of winning however are one in 259 million.
The winning ticket must match the six numbers drawn. 32% of the possible combinations of numbers have been sold already. People in Thomasville have their go to numbers for this big jackpot. "I have lucky numbers that I play. I have a sequence of numbers then every now and then I stop in the store and get five quick picks," said Stanley Roberts, Sr.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Island. People we ran into said if they won the big bucks family would come first.
"That would just mean freedom for me and my family and a lot of people," said Keasha Bozeman.
"You can help a lot of people other than yourself you know what I'm saying," said Wilbro Holland
"I'd help a lot of people that's for sure, including my family and everybody I know," said Brett Cohan.
The winner will be selected tonight at 11P.M. If the winner of the Mega Million takes the option of cash, they will get $228 million.
