Moody airmen, Lowndes County EMS and area hospital volunteers were on site for a Major Accident Response Exercise, according to SrA Spencer Gallien, USAF.
One-hundred volunteers posed as victims of all types of emergencies--from hurricanes to plane crashes-- to make sure they're ready for any disaster that may strike.
"The big piece is the communication," said Lt Col Lisa Davison, the chief nurse with the 23rd Wing. "And ensuring that any disaster that occurs in our local community, that we have the right people going out and responding and getting them to the right service, located both within the Valdosta community and throughout the state of Georgia."
Moody holds these exercises several time a year, but this is the first time it was held with local EMS responders.
