No further arrests were made today (12/20) in the shooting case, but GBI says more are likely to come as the investigation unfolds.
A robbery-turned-murder occurred Dec. 19 at 311 Gilliard Street, Tifton, GA around noon, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). The victim, 22-year-old Andrew Thomas, was shot and GBI says they believe he died on scene.
The alleged shooter is 18-year-old Dominique Nixon. They arrested him this morning in Tifton. Officials say they aren't sure if the home where the incident happened was being occupied permanently by anyone - they say it was used as a popular "hang out", and they aren't sure who owns it just yet. They believe there was bad blood between Nixon and Thomas, and that Nixon was trying to hold the victim up for money when he shot him. .
