The Valdosta City School System has renamed the museum the David S. Waller Valdosta Wildcat Museum Thursday Night.
Waller, who is called the *Real* Wildcat has been collecting items for the museum for years.
Even in retirement, he's still working hard to keep the museum going which is why this honor means so much to him.
"It feels wonderful, just wonderful. I didn't work for that, I wasn't working for recognition, I was working for the wildcats and the community," said Waller.
Earlier this month, the new boys and girls club on Toomb Street was also named after Waller.
