A Thomasville organization is giving homeless veterans something to be thankful for.

The Jack Reid Memorial Foundation says its Mustard Seed House is open for business for veterans in need.

The apartment-style house at 155 Cherry Street will provide a place to call "home" for many veterans who haven't had one in quite a while.

Foundation boardmembers say the house was not scheduled to open until the first of the year, but once they knew of a veteran without a home, they say they couldn't let him go on sleeping in the street.

New resident Marvin Goar says everyday had been a 'challenge' until he found out he had a new home.

Veterans in need can apply to the VA office in Thomasville for a referral to the Mustard Seed House.
