Atlanta, GA (AP) - Nearly 350,000 Georgians have already voted in
this year's general election.
The Secretary of State's Office reports that 348,198 people have
cast ballots statewide as of Saturday. Though early voting got off
to a slow start, nearly twice the number of voters headed to the
polls last week than the previous week.
Early voting in Georgia began on Sept. 20 and ends on Friday.
The general election is Nov. 2.
Four Georgia counties have consistently been in the top five for
early voter turnout: Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb and Gwinnett.
Nearly 5.8 million people in Georgia are registered to vote.
