Atlanta, GA (AP) - Governor Sonny Perdue has tapped two attorneys for
open seats on the Georgia Court of Appeals.
The governor said Wednesday Keith Blackwell and Stephen Dillard
will be appointed to fill vacancies on the court created by the
retirement of Judge Alan Blackburn and the death of Judge Debra
Bernes.
Blackwell is a partner in an Atlanta-based litigation firm and a
former prosecutor in the Cobb County District Attorney's office.
Dillard is chair of a Macon-based appellate practice group.
Blackwell and Dillard are both members of the governor's
Judicial Nominating Commission.
