Moultrie, GA - According to Moultrie Police, shortly after 9:00 p.m. Monday a man barged into Packer's Food Mart #2 along Highway 319, demanding money.
Corporal Dave Underwood with the Moultrie Police Department said the suspect was brandishing a firearm, walked over the counter with a bag and told the cashier to put the money inside the bag.
"She wasn't moving fast enough so he then comes behind the counter and walks her back over to the cash register, holding her at gunpoint and then makes her hold the bag while he puts the cash in," Corporal Underwood said.
After about 90 seconds, the gunman took off with an undisclosed amount of money.
"There were no customers inside at time thankfully and thankfully she was uninjured," Corporal Underwood said. "She cooperated with him. She didn't try to fight him."
Investigators say because the suspect was almost fully covered, they don't have a lot of information to go off of as far as who they're looking for, but they're hoping someone will recognize a characteristic about the gunman that could possibly lead to an arrest.
"See if there's anything about the guy they might recognize in how he moves. There's one shot of part of his face; maybe that'll stick out to someone."
Police say the gunman is facing armed robbery and possible aggravated assault charges.
They're asking anyone with information on this crime or on a possible suspect to contact them at (229) 890-5451.
