From now until April 18Th, folks with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance - or VITA program will offer several places around South Georgia where low and middle income residents can go to have their income taxes done for free.
To qualify you must earn less than 49-thousand dollars a year.
"You have so many people that have waited for this day because they need this money," said Private Attorney Involvement Coordinator JaTaryia Thomas. "Why not be able to give them their whole refund that's due to them? It gives them that extra money, that extra boost to help them get back on track."
This is the third year the program has been in place in Georgia.
Thomas says they will be serving 25 counties throughout the Southern part of the state.
