ATLANTA – A Quitman grocery store has sold a winning Mega Millions ticket worth a quarter of a million dollars. Johnson Grocery #0002, 1010 N. Washington St. in Quitman, sold a winning Quik Pik ticket worth $250,000 that matched the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 24 Mega Millions drawing.
The winner, Wyatt Haney of Quitman, claimed his prize Oct. 11 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
Winning numbers from the Sept. 24 Mega Millions drawing were: 4-11-32-39-40 and the Mega Ball was 33.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
