The court house in Quitman, Georgia will soon be getting some major renovations.
It's the only court in Quitman and over time it has worn down plenty. Designers want to fix up the roof, walls, floors and windows.
The $150,000 dollar project is being funded through SPLOST dollars and will transform it back to its former glory from when it was first built.
Brooks County Attorney Vann Parrott spearheaded the project.
"So what our objective is to get it back to what it originally looked like in 1864, at least as close as we can get it to that and still make the room functional today," Parrott said.
The project will come in three stages. During stage one no jury trials will be held in the court.
