ATLANTA (AP) -- The next joint meeting of the House and Senate
Legislative and Congressional Reapportionment Committees is
scheduled for Monday in Dalton.
The hearing will be held at the Dalton City Hall from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
The meetings are being to gather citizen input ahead of a special session of the Georgia Legislature where lawmakers will adjust the congressional maps according to population changes based on the U.S. Census as required once a decade by the Constitution.
Hearings have already been held in several cities across the state including Athens, Augusta, Albany, Savannah, Stockbridge, Valdosta, Columbus, Cartersville and Macon.
