Thomasville, GA- Dozens of people are teaming up to help each other lose weight and possibly win some money.
Registration is officially underway for the 2014 Thomasville YMCA Team Lean Program.
Teams of four of five people will compete to see who can shed the most pounds over a 10 week period.
Tom Everett, CEO of the Thomasville YMCA says this is the 7th year they've hosted Team Lean and that it's very rewarding to see members of the community, including local businesses, support the Team Leaners.
"If they want to go eat out or din out at a restaurant here in the community, we have restaurants that are partners and really support it and offer healthy dishes and healthy menu items for our friends and family members who are doing Team Lean in the community," Everett said.
Archbold Medical Center will also be offering free health screenings at the first and last weigh-ins.
The Team Leaners with the largest decrease in their cholesterol levels will be eligible for a cash prize
Money will also be awarded to top male, top female and top team.
The last day to register is January 9th.
