Atlanta, GA --
The GOP is set to complete a historic sweep in Georgia as Republicans are sworn in to every statewide office Monday.
A severe winter storm barreling into the state forced officials to move Monday's inauguration from the state Capitol steps inside to the shelter of the House chamber. Monday night's inaugural gala was scrapped to keep supporters off treacherous roads.
Georgia Republicans won every statewide elected office in November's general election and have also gained seats in the state
Legislature completing a political transformation in the state that
began in 2002.
Deal, who was elected governor with 53 percent of the vote, will be sworn in as Georgia's 82nd governor, replacing Sonny Perdue who's barred by term limits from seeking a third term.
