The City of Valdosta is asking residents to conserve water. During the current dry season, officials ask that people scale back outdoor watering.
Valdosta recommends that people living in odd numbered homes water their yards on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Even addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Officials say water usage for this time of year is too high.
"When you see it up to 15 million gallons, you get worried because you start seeing storage tanks dropping down. That lessens firefighting capability if there should be a big fire," says Henry Hicks.
Valdosta's outdoor water restriction will be in effect through the summer.
