Officers say at about 2:30 Saturday (5/7) morning, two masked men approached a man sitting in his car at the intersection of Magnolia and College Streets in Thomasville.

They say the men pulled out a knife and a gun and forced the victim into the trunk of his car, then drove him around for more than two hours.

Says Lt. Eric Hampton with the Thomasville Police Department, "All [the victim] knows is that at some point they stopped, had him get out of the trunk -- they got him out of the trunk -- had him strip and get back into the trunk. At that time they rode around some more."

Police say the man was disoriented when he escaped from the trunk.

They say he managed to find a house along the Florida - Georgia border, close to where he and his car had been abandoned and called 911.

Police do not have a description of the robbers, but say the men stole some money from the victim's wallet.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Thomasville Police Department at (229) 227-7075.
