ATLANTA -- August 19, 2012
A search has resumed for a 44-year-old boater who dove into Lake Lanier but never resurfaced.
Hall County officials were using sonar Sunday to search for Jeffrey Nause. He was last seen Friday when he went into the water near the Lake Lanier islands. Witnesses said Nause became distressed and went underwater.
Dive teams spent part of Saturday searching for the body. Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office said the case is being investigated as an accidental drowning.
