Valdosta, GA - Residents of Valdosta are getting fired up for the 14th Annual Azalea Festival at Drexel Park.
Keeping with tradition, festival goers can expect to see Quacky the Duck at the Second Harvest tent. Quacky will be helping pick out lucky rubber ducks for Second Harvest's annual Derby Duck Race. For $5 you can adopt the rubber duck of your choice to compete in the race that will be held April 26th.
All proceeds go to Second Harvest who is offering up some pretty cool prizes, including $5,000 cash for the grand prize winner, a $2,500 shopping spree from Steel's Jewelry for the second place winner, and a custom golf cart for the third place winner.
"Derby Duck Race is an important event because it has a direct impact on our ability to end hunger in South Georgia. One duck adoption is $5 and that can help feed a child for a week through our Kids Cafe after school feeding program", says Eliza McCall, Chief Marketing Officer for Second Harvest.
