Valdosta, GA - This week is National Small Business Week and the city of Valdosta has a lot to celebrate.
The Restaurant Growth Index recently ranked the city 13th in the nation. The report identifies restaurant sales and gaps in sales per capita compared to the national average. The city says its small and emerging business program has helped small businesses to open and continue thriving.
Mark Barber, Deputy City Manager of Administration says, "As we know small business is the backbone of the economy and we're all suffering right now so we're just trying to help that small business make it through these tough times because if we do that it benefits the whole community".
In April, Valdosta Metropolitan Statiscal Area was ranked 24th out of 363 across the nation by the American Booksellers Association.
