Thomasville, GA- There's now a new place in town to satisfy your sweet tooth and it's gaining some national recognition.
'Smallcakes' has set up shop in downtown Thomasville along Broad Street.
The cupcakery, which was founded by former 'Cupcake Wars' contestant, Jeff Martin, offers 18 signature flavors of cupcakes.
The cupcakes are baked fresh, from scratch, every morning.
"They range from simple flavors like Birthday Cake, which has sprinkles and buttercream icing; to cool flavors like our Key Lime Pie," Martin said. "Our chocolate cream has buttercream in the middle like a Ho-Ho. Our red velvet is the one we're known for. We've been on the Food Network and then Whoopi Goldberg said it's the best red velvet she ever tasted."
USA Today listed 'Smallcakes' as one of the Top Ten cupcake places in the country.
The owners of the Thomasville location say they have plans to open up a Tallahassee 'Smallcakes' by mid October.
