Colquitt County, GA - Investigators with the Colquitt County Sheriff's office say 26-year-old Michael Russell from Camilla is the man they're looking for.
Russell was one of two men charged in the 2011 robbery and shooting of Billy Hewitt, Jr. in Moultrie.
We were in the courtroom back in December 2012 when the second man charged, Phirronnius Edwards, was found guilty of felony murder, armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Edwards was sentenced to life in prison, plus five years.
Russell, who was originally charged with murder, was also in the courtroom and took the stand during Edward's trial as part of a plea deal.
"Part of the plea deal was the murder charges would be dropped if he pled guilty to armed robbery and in exchange, he would have to testify in court against Phirronnius Edwards," said Investigator Shannon Hart with the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office.
Russell, who had been out of jail on bond, was due back in the courtroom in March to learn his fate, but investigators say, he never showed up and has been on the run ever since.
Investigators say once Russell is captured he will face more charges which include felony bail jumping.
Anyone with information on Russell's whereabouts are asked to contact the Colquitt County Sheriff's Office at 229-616-7460.
