Super 8 Motel Robbery

The Valdosta Police Department received information from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office that developed Antonio Jose Cooks as a suspect in the robbery at the Super 8 Motel which occurred on November 8, 2010. On Tuesday evening, November 9, 2010, Cooks came to the Valdosta Police Department to be interviewed by Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department Investigations Bureau. Information given by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and information developed during the subsequent investigation and interview, led to Cooks being arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. Cooks is being charged with Robbery by Force-Strong Arm and Battery.
The Valdosta Police Department would like to thank the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this case, which led to the arrest of Cooks.

The Valdosta Police Department has released information in the Super 8 Motel Robbery that took place November 8.

VPD Release follows:

On November 8, 2010 at approximately 6:50PM, Officers with the Valdosta Police Department responded to the Super 8 Motel, 1825 W. Hill Avenue in reference to a robbery. Officers were advised by the clerk, that an unknown African American male came into the lobby and asked to use the restroom. When the clerk opened the office door to show him where the bathroom was, the offender struck him in the face with his fist, took and unknown amount of money out of the cash drawer, and left the business. The clerk indicated that the offender was wearing blue jeans and blue shirt with a white undershirt. No further description was given. Detectives from the Valdosta Police Department Investigations Unit and a Crime Scene Technician from the Valdosta-Lowndes Crime Laboratory responded to investigate. The incident is currently under investigation and there is no further information available at this time.
