More than 150 students at Thomas County Central High School are taking part in a program called "Teen Lean."
The student initiated program is a mock of the community event "Team Lean" put on by the YMCA.
The program kicked off in early January and since then students said they've noticed changes in their day day lives.
"I usually have a shorter breath like when I'm doing something ... but now I can be more athletic than I use to be," said 12th grade student Vrna Leonard.
"I've lost nine pounds in one week," said 10th grade student Harley Hudson.
Students weigh in once a week and the male and female winner with the most weight loss gets 100 dollar cash prize.
