Quitman, GA -

Wishes did come true for twenty teachers from the Brooks County School System. They all got merchandise from the Teachers Harvest Wish List Give Away, organized by Second Harvest of South Georgia.

Elaine Southall is a teacher at Brooks High School. She said "my students come in without paper or pencils and that's what I had hoped I'd receive if I received any donations this year and I did receive a big supply of paper and pencils so anytime someone thinks their little donation doesn't matter think again because it does."

so far this year there have been one hundred and sixty teachers helped. Roughly twenty one thousand dollars worth of merchandise has been given away.

Printers, chairs, markers and rubber bands were just a few of the items that the teachers got. Which couldn't have come at a better time.

Kristie Calhoun teaches at Brooks County Middle School. She said "with budget cuts and everything it's kind of put a damper on some of the supplies that we can gather. So I just asked for some arts and crafts for projects and that's what I got so it was really nice."
