Atlanta, GA (AP) - A Georgia man who is already serving life in
prison for murdering a convenience store clerk was sentenced to 75
more years in prison after pleading guilty to shooting a young
mother and beating her 1-year-old baby.

Antoine Wimes, 18, pleaded guilty Thursday to the August 2009
assault on 22-year-old Shanequa "Nikki" Neely and her son
Javonte.

Wimes was convicted in September of the July 2008 killing of
48-year-old Obiakor Onyemaechi at a Quick Stop II store over a $5
T-shirt.

Prosecutors say he attacked Neely while he was waiting to go on
trial for Onyemaechi's killing. They say he cut his ankle monitor
and then shot Neely and beat her son after she refused to give him
money. He was recaptured the next day.

The attack left Neely partially paralyzed and a bullet from the
gunshot remains lodged in her neck.
