A $1.5 million grant comes not a moment too soon for a local school.
Thomas University announced today it will be receiving a federal grant to assist low-income, first-generation, and disabled students with tuition costs.
The grant, which is designed to assist 175 students over a 3-year period, comes just in time to replenish previous grants being used in the same way.
University officials say more than 90% of the student body relies on some type of financial aid.
They say the grants testify to the amount of hard work and dedication both students and faculty members put in to making the university a great place.
