Thomasville, GA- A Georgia woman is using the power of social media to help make the holidays special for those in need this year.

Monica Garcia from Thomasville created a Facebook page called, Helping Hands South Georgia.

Her goal is to reach out to families in the area who need help this holiday season.

People are using the page to post items that they are willing to donate.

Families are also using the page to apply to receive those donations.

"I've got clothes, toys, wrapping paper, canned goods," said Garcia. "Any and everything that you don't need anymore, somebody else does."

Garcia says she has already received enough donations to provide for two families and hopes to complete another five families by Christmas.
