Thomasville, GA - "This location, the crime rate has increased a lot." said Buster Lanter.
Lanter is owner of Lanter Communications the family owned business in Thomasville. The store has been robbed five times in 2013 with the most recent robbery on December 7TH.
In the surveillance video you can see one of the robbers throwing a hammer into a door. The robber then comes back and throws a cinder block into another door.
Christopher Ross and Sammy Reed were charged in connection with this latest burglary. "It seems these people are looking for cellular phones, they're looking for any money they can find," said Lanter
Thomasville Police were circling the hot spot area at the time of the last break-in. They were able to respond in just minutes. "Other officers responded and assisted him in the apprehension ad they located the other subject hiding underneath a residence," said Lt. Wade Glover of the Thomasville Police Department. TPD has solved three of the five burglaries at Lanter's business. "Some of the those were juveniles that broke into the business and other times it has just been people breaking in trying to steal cell phones and money out of the business," said Lt. Glover.
The owner says the burglaries also affect his plans for retirement. "Plan to work past normal retirement, but I'm not sure that I'm going to continue it, because of the number of break-ins," says Lanter.
Ross and Reed are both in Thomas County Jail. Lanter tells us he could see himself getting out of the cell phone business in the future, because of the break-ins.
