Press Release: Georgia Lottery
ATLANTA – One lucky Thomasville woman has scored a second windfall from the Georgia Lottery. Linda Huckans, 70, won a $400,000 top prize playing the instant game $400,000 Bonanza.
Huckans was excited to win a $250,000 prize in 2011 and considers her second win memorable. She claimed her prize Sept. 11 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
While grocery shopping at Publix Super Market #0476, 2551 E. Pinetree Blvd. in Thomasville, Huckans purchased the ticket.
“I put it in my purse and scratched it in the car,” she said. “I looked around, signed the back of the ticket, and drove home to show my son, who said, ‘That’s unbelievable!’”
The lucky lottery winner won her quarter-million dollar prize playing a different Georgia Lottery instant game while gassing up in Albany.
With that windfall, she retired from working as an office manager for a manufacturing company.
Her $400,000 prize will allow her to finish remodeling her home and make plans for her children.
“It’s incredible,” Huckans exclaimed.
