Thomasville Police said earlier this week 18-year-old Shaterrica Brown was caught with a 5-inch steak knife.

Officers said once a school administrator learned Brown had a knife she was called to the office. When approached officers said Brown told school staff she didn't have a knife but later confessed.

Brown is being charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds among other charges.

Yes there are 2 sides to every story but that does not mean that either one makes a differnce. She took a knife to school for what ever reason, she was told on by other students and now is mad at the students for telling on her. She has to be punished because rules are rules.

I agree with Bob. we are on here talking like we know what goes on behind close doors. I've seen several students jump on one. So I agree with him. But being that she did take that step to carry the knife to school she should be punished. But there is always another side to a story. Not just the one we are reading.

RU kidding, The school did not make this a crime. They are just enforcing the laws that we created by the Legislature.

Bob, that would require common sense, which ceases to exist at the school house doors. This girl is either a bully or a victim, but the schools aren't interested in figuring out which is which. It is the only place in the world you can get suspended for fighting after someone hits you.

She is 18 and an adult. Why is she being treated like a minor? Her name and address should be listed just like any other adult.

Shatterica. Ok..... Back in the day (at Leon, back in the 70's and 80's) all of guys carried knives. Usually Buck 110 folders, right on our belt. A rifle, or a shotgun in our trucks, too. No big deal. Females didn't carry knives. Now it's front page news... as Dylan said, "the times, they are a changin...." Of course, that was back when you faced down a bully (or bullies). You didn't come to school and kill everybody.
