Thomasville Police are warning local residents to be careful when they answer the door at night.

Officers say late night visitors have been reported in various Thomasville neigborhoods recently.

TPD says residents have reported a man or woman knocking on their door and asking for shelter, food, or money late at night or in the early hours of the morning.

Police say though the incidents have all happened at night, people should be alert at all hours when answering the door to a stranger.

They ask anyone who has been approached for help at their home after hours to report the incident to law enforcement.

Not that I would open my door to strangers but it would be nice to know what neighborhoods these people are in.
