Folks in Thomasville are kicking off their Fourth Of July celebrations.
The city is preparing to host it's annual Independence Day festival at Remington Park.
Festivities will include arts and crafts for the kids, live music and holiday food favorites.
Most importantly though, coordinators say it's about the community coming together.
"Everyone's excited," said Sherri Nix, the tourism coordinator for Thomasville. "This is a holiday that our community has always enjoyed, and has always participated in. We're very thankful that they come out and enjoy the evening with us."
Event planners are expecting more than one thousand people to attend the celebration. Guests will also enjoy a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
