The 90th Annual Standard Flower Show kicks off Friday (3/25) afternoon -- and all are welcome to the free event.

Coordinators say the show is a fun way for people to see the range of plant life that can be grown in the southern part of the Peach State.

Says the show's chairman, Julia Singletary, ""It's a time we'll really see the spring blooms. We'll have some winter things like camellias, then we'll have some daffodils, delphinium, sweet peas, lots of different things -- so it's a fun way to see what grows and blooms in March."

In addition to the flowers, coordinators say the show will spotlight different non-profit organizations from around Thomas County.

Admission and parking for the main show are free.

A ticketed lunch will kick off the event on Friday around noon, and a wine and cheese hour will also be held at 5:30.

To purchase tickets for the lunch, or wine and cheese event, contact the Thomasville Garden Center at (229) 226-5291 or the Thomasville Visitors Center, toll free, at 866-577-3600.

The show will be held entirely at the Garden Center.

Hours are Friday, March 25, from 1:30 PM until 5 PM, and Saturday, March 26, from 10AM until 4PM.
