Tift County Drug Bust

Agents say Roberto Canas was arrested during a drug bust that netted $11,000 in methamphetamine.

Canas posted bond earlier this week.

Agents say Canas was arrested after an extensive investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in Tift County.

More possible arrests could be made pending the outcome of the investigation.

Tift County Sheriff Gary Vowell says that agents of the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force and the Tift County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36 year old Roberto Canas Jr. of 382 Hwy. 125 South Lot E6 Tifton, Georgia.

Canas was arrested as the result of an investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in Tift County. On the day of his arrest, Canas met with an undercover agent and attempted to sell approximately eleven ounces of crystal methamphetamine for eleven thousand dollars.

When Canas met with the agent and produced the eleven ounces of crystal methamphetamine, he was taken into custody by deputies and Task Force agents.

Canas was transported to the Tift County jail where he was charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
