News Release: Georgia Department of Transportation

Where:
U.S. 319 at Crum Road in Tift County.

When:
Beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Construction is expected to take two weeks.

What:
Southbound traffic on U.S. 319 will merge and will be shifted to a lane on the northbound side of the highway. The southbound lanes will be closed to traffic.

Why:
Construction crews will be lowering the road to improve the line of sight for motorists and installing a turn lane.

Motorists are reminded to slow down approaching and passing through the construction zone and to give their full attention to the road. Speeding and distractions are the most common contributing factors in work zone safety accidents. Obey speed limit signs and don’t tailgate other motorists or construction vehicles.
