Thomas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a train derailment at about 11:39 this morning. When they arrived on scene they discovered that four cars had left the tracks that run parallel to a trailer park off McMillan Road. No word yet on what caused the accident. Right now the contents of the four cars that tipped are spread across the ground nearby. Our reporter on scene says the contents look like some sort of livestock feed. We’re told the train master is on his way from Albany to the scene of the derailment in Thomas County.
We’ll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
