Tree of Lights at Archbold Memorial Hospital

The tree in Archbold Memorial Hospital's newly renovated lobby is not only beautiful to look at, it also holds a lot of sentimental value for community members here in Thomasville.

Every light and decoration on the twenty foot live tree is a symbol of someones generosity.

"This is an opportunity for our community to recognize those that they've loved during the holiday season" said Archbold CEO Perry Mustian.

People can pledge a donation to the Tree of Lights and purchase a light of their own to commemorate someone special. All of the donations go to directly to support Archbold's Hospice Care Program.

"We will have a tribute book here in the lobby by the tree that lists every gift that's been made and every person that's been honored or a gift made in memory of," said Frances Parker, President of the Archbold Foundation.

The tree lighting ceremony featured special performances by local school musicians, including the Favor Christian Academy String Orchestra and the Brookwood Lower School Chorus, the first time members had participated in this event.

Anyone interested in donating to the foundation can do so throughout the holiday season.

Surely there are oter things that this hospital can do beside putting up a holiday tree. How about getting rid of the idiots who run the show there. They are ruining JD Archbold vision in providing quality healthcare for the members of the community. These out of towners who are the new leaders are not what is good for Archbold....

What a dunce you are... she's making a point that it should be called a "Christmas Tree" which is exactly what it is.
